Muslim Welfare Funds
Muslim Welfare Fund, (MUWELF), is an Islamic charity organisation, was established in 1997, by five Muslim professional organizations, namely,
• Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP)
• Movement for Islamic Culture and Awareness (MICA)
• The Companion
• The Criterion
• Muslim Teachers Association of Nigeria
The need to establish this organization came as a result of the increasing rate of students’ failure to complete their educational career due to financial difficulties of their parents/guardians, and the emerging frustration of graduates of higher institutions, due to lack of gainful employment. In addition to all these, is the financial difficulties faced by vulnerable people, such as the widows, orphans, victims of riot and natural disasters, and aged people among others.
Unfortunately, majority of the people in these situations are Muslims, and most disturbing is the fact they often times do not have anyone readily available for help and support, and where they get, it is so paltry that it does not impact nor change their condition.
It was against this background that the above Muslim professionals’ organisations came together to establish this organisation, with the key mission of alleviating poverty and relief for the distressed, in the areas of education, health and economic empowerment, through mobilization and disbursement of funds collected from Muslims and ethically-qualified organisations, institutions and individual members of the public, in the country and abroad.
Our Objectives
2. To organise training workshops, seminars, guidance and counseling sessions, for young graduates, to improve their skills and employment prospects;
3. To educate Muslims on their religious and social obligations to the poor and needy, according to Allah’s Injunctions in the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet.
4. To help and support Islamic teaching and propagation activities, and collaborate with Islamic organisations for the Unity, Progress and Prosperity of the Ummah.

6. To do all other RIGHTEOUS, GOOD AND LAWFUL acts, for the betterment of the Ummah and gaining the Pleasure and Paradise of Allah. Since the commencement of operations in 1997, we kept faith with the Fund’s Mission and Vision, and have been pursuing the achievement of its Goals and Objectives, with highly dedicated and experienced leadership, and committed good-willing members, subscribers and donors.
Since inception, we have been accomplishing the Mission and moving confidently toward the realization of our Vision. Majority of the set objectives are being achieved, year-in, year-out, while the Fund continues to grow in membership and finance. Alhamdulillah Robili Alamiin.
